Way to go, Georgia...

Y'all aren't really up on proper apostrophe placement, are you?

I wish I had taken a picture last time I was in Tennessee, but I wasn't as prepared as the grammarphile is. I saw a sign that read "Ya'll y'all." I don't recall what the rest said, but I could only assume that "ya'll" and "y'all" are considered two different words... gotta love the South. ;)

Haha! Or they could be trying out what I call the 50% rule...if you spell/punctuate it two different ways, then you've probably got a 50% shot of getting it right one of those times. ;)

I want to start abbreviating "you will" as "ya'll".

Also, I'm in Tennessee, and this is the first time that I've ever seen "ya'll"; I think you had a unique experience here, Rob. ;)

"Y'all", on the other hand, is very much a standard word in the local lexicon.

Oh, EVula, if you use that newly-invented contraction of yours in any future Red Pen comments, I'm gonna cringe...LOL.

I'm going to assume this was a picture from the Idol auditions last week? We all know they attract some of the most intelligent members of our society.

Very good, ChicagoLady--you're absolutely right! :)

Oh my *dearest* Grammarphile, I think we both know that I'd never actually inflict that upon you. :P

You are a good man, EVula...and a wise one, too! :)
