Fewer things piss me off more than this particular error...

I asked for fewer grammar errors.
Nobody fucking listened.
I feel drunk because I had to have some vodka after looking at this ad.

Also: We usually do food-related things on Friday, but I'm too lazy today to do a Foodie Friday post. But I've got a food-related, Red Pen-worthy story for you...just click here (thanks, JIM, for finding this article!).

Maybe if this dude were LESS drunk he'd have FEWER grammar problems.

The writer obviously never heard of less is more, not fewer; therefore, you want to use fewer as the opposite of more. ;)

This typo is cut from the same cloth as all those radio fucktards saying, "OVER 100 BRANDS AVAILABLE!" or "OVER $50 IN DISCOUNTS!" That one drives me five kinds of crazy.

It took the mighty grocery industry a couple of decades to get their "Ten Items or Less" signs fixed. I wonder how long it’ll take Microsoft.

@ Amy: Maybe. Or maybe he's just grammatically-retarded. :) (As a Mac person, you must really get a kick out of this error...)

@ Rob: Ooh, that's a good way to remember the rule!

@ MoJoe: Radio people perpetuating that awful *bad grammar* trend? I NEVER would have guessed... ;)

@ LadyStyx: In another shot or two, this error might look less aggravating...*maybe*. But probably not. ;)

@ Carlos: Too bad Windows 7 can't fix bad grammar...

Greetings from Invented Usage!

This ad campaign had several bizarre errors, including "I asked for such and such, and all the sudden, it's such and such". At least I understand the less/fewer thing, but that one baffled me.

Anyway, i blogged about it, too: http://inuse.blogspot.com/2009/12/windows-7-back-with-vengeance.html. Hope all is well in grammarphile land!
