MISSPELLING MONDAY for August 17, 2009

Hmmm, I think the creepiest thing in this picture, sent in by MELODY, is the spelling (or, more accurately--the misspellings). I mean, "creapy"? Ugh. (Double ugh, in fact, since they made that screw-up twice.) And what's this business about "com quench your thirst"...?

Also: I am not going anywhere with anyone who has fangs unless the person with fangs happens to be this guy...

(Yep, I'm definitely on Team Eric. Are there any other True Blood fans who read this blog? If so--are you Team Bill, Team Eric, or Team Sam?)

Thanks, MELODY, for spotting these amusing spelling errors!

You know which team I'm on. ;)

You're on the best team! :) ...Last night's episode was awesome, awesome, AWESOME!!! Eric looked so DELICIOUS!

What about "warewolves?" Do they prowl warehouses? ;)

Definitely a fan of True Blood as well! Currently I haven't decided who has the best team, but Team Eric does have Pam and she's got some rather nice legs... :)

Ahahah! Thanks for posting my submission :D

Team Eric alllllll the way.

HOLY CRAP, I TOTALLY DIDN'T SEE "WAREWOLVES"!!!!!

Eric must have glamored me or something. Really, there's no other excuse for not noticing that error!

I haven't really noticed Pam's legs, but I have noticed she often wears great shoes. Plus, she's sassy...so I like her. I wish she'd get a little more screen time...she rocks!

Quite welcome, Melody! :) It was a great submission! Also, it's nice to find other folks who are Team Eric, haha.

(Bill often drives me nuts. I like TV Bill better than Book Bill, but whether I'm reading or watching him, there are still a lot of moments when I kinda want to smack him...or fall asleep, 'cause he kinda bores me.)

Dang it, I was hoping to be the first one to spot WAREWOLVES!

At least you spotted it, Marie--you did better than I did! :)

Creapy makes me think of crepe paper for some reason...even though there's still no "a" in crepe...hmm.

I'm moving towards team Eric. I definitely agree about book Bill now that I've finished the third one, which I think is starting to change my opinion of TV Bill too. And Eric is definitely yummier. ;)

Sadly I haven't gotten to see last night's episode so I don't know what happened, but when I go to my dad's on Tuesday (currently I'm at my mom's, sans HBO) I'll be able to bring it up in On Demand. =)

I think you'll love the episode when you watch it On Demand. I think last night's vampire-related storylines were great, the Jessica/Hoyt storyline is also one of my favorites, and...well, I've gotta say I want to see this Marianne storyline go away. I also felt that Sam and his actions were entirely too predictable in last night's episode. But Eric? DAMN! He's my favorite character in the books (well, him and Pam), and one of my two favorites on the show (Lafayette's my other favorite; I think the person who plays him does a truly fantastic job).

I'm on Book 7 and Book Bill has definitely clouded the way I see TV Bill.

I get sort of mad when they mess with Eric's character (like, him bringing Lorena into the mix) because he is so ridiculously great in the books. (And good lord ... that bed shot last night? *gapes* ;))

I too am tired of Marianne, and Hoyt/Jessica are just adorable.

We're totally on the same page here. :D

I totally agree! In the books and on the TV show, I have always thought Eric had so much more personality than Bill.

And yeah, that bed shot...damn. I'd happily be a fangbanger if Eric was around, haha.

I like how Hoyt's seeming smarter now in the show than he ever did in Season 1 of the show or in ANY of the books. I think Jessica is just adorable, and I love how she gets all embarrassed when her fangs come out at inopportune moments. She lends a very *human* aspect to being a vampire...if that makes sense. :)

I haven't really decided on either team yet, but I think that's because I find Sookie to be the least interesting character in the series, so I don't really care who she ends up with (or the second dullest, Bill, for that matter). Although TV Sookie is infinitely less irritating than she was in the first book. (That's all I've read.) It is fun to watch Eric corrupt and manipulate her, though. Can I be on his team without caring about her? Personally, I think it would be fun to have Eric with Jason or Sam, but maybe that's just me. I'm rather down with the hoyay.

Also, if she sticks around, I'd like to join Team Isabel. I've loved Valerie Cruz since the short-lived Dresden Files TV series, and she was great on Dexter.

Yes! Hoyt is awesome. When he was standing up to Maxine last night, I wanted to cheer. In the books, he's just kind of a dumb side-kick guy, but in the series, he's really almost smarter than Jason, at least when it comes to being civil and tolerant of everyone ... alive or no.

And Jessica's just plain cute. I totally approve of their non-book storyline.

THE GRAMMARPHILE said...

@ Robin: I hear ya on Sookie. I don't have a ton of strong feelings about her, so I don't really like or dislike her. I feel like some of the supporting characters (Eric, Lafayette, Jessica, Jason, etc) really outshine some of the main characters this season.

Eric with Jason--now THAT would be interesting! :)

I like Isabel, too. But wait--what character was she on Dexter? I've seen the first two seasons, and I don't remember her. Is she in season 3? (I am eagerly awaiting season 3's arrival in the mail; I pre-ordered it a couple months ago!)

THE GRAMMARPHILE said...

@ Mandy: Yeah, I like Hoyt, too. For someone who looks like kind of a hickish guy (albeit a cute hick!), he has a very non-hick, TOLERANT attitude. And Jessica's turning out to not be such a little hellraiser after all, which I like. They're really cute together. I definitely like this better than the book storylines about Hoyt!

Robin said...

Grammarphile: Yeah, Valerie Cruz in in season 3 of Dexter. (I watched through less-than-legal means, but will be buying the DVDs.) She plays Jimmy Smits' character's wife who becomes friends with Rita.

@ Robin: Awesome! I think she's great in True Blood; can't wait to see her in Dexter. Yesterday I got a notification that my Amazon order that includes Dexter season 3 has shipped, so I am all sorts of excited... :)
