Cash for Clunkers? Not exactly...

I know there's a program where you can get cash for your clunker of a car, but what sort of programs are there for getting something in return for turning in clunckers?

If there aren't any such programs, I'd like to propose this one: Turn in your "cluncker"...and get a copy of Spelling for Dummies, absolutely FREE!

Thanks, BREE, for finding this misspelling!

Gas Guzzling Car Trade In! Get a Fuel Efficient Car! 0 State Emissions, Reduced Environmental Footprint. Spell Check Not Included. Rules and Restrictions apply, especially to those with shitty grammar. Offer not valid in Alaska, or anywhere else the blight known as Sarah Palin has visited.

Man I really wish hubby would take advantage of such a program. Our Ford F150 is an '88. Most of the parts are original, but she's gotten old and we're having to fix her more and more often these days. This last trip in cost us over $200 and it's not even for sure that she's been repaired. Something to do with rust sometimes covering up other leaks and once the rust is flushed out those openings become exposed. Anyhow, I really wish he'd get something more cost effective gas-wise but he won't because we own this bugger free and clear.

@ LadyStyx: My dad took advantage of the program and now has a new fuel-efficient car! His previous car was on its last legs (er, wheels?) and the AC had crapped out on him, so he was plenty motivated to use the Cash for Clunkers program to help himself get a new one! Perhaps at some point your hubby might change his mind and want to do the same thing, especially if the repairs get too frequent and costly.
