MISSPELLING MONDAY for May 18, 2009

LEE G. from Baton Rouge found this amusing misspelling for us. Gosh, I hope this misspelling isn't on the door to a proofreader's office. That would be very, very bad for business!

Thanks, LEE, for spotting this one!

Any chance that it is and that's the first test job applicants face?

If so, that would be freakin' BRILLIANT. :)

That is the absolute worst misspelling of business that I have ever seen...

This is the ONLY misspelling of "business" that I've ever seen, but yeah--it's BAD!

Funny--I've seen this misspelling a lot. Especially when I was in middle school. I noticed it specifically because I was a very good speller in school but I has never noticed business was the compound word bus(y)-ness. Just from glancing at the word and not really studying it I remembered the b, u, and i near the beginning and transferred the double s from the end to also the middle of the word.

After I realized the correct spelling I noticed it being misspelled the other way a lot. I believe it's one of those things I can't remember the word for--you know, like you buy a certain brand of car and suddenly you see them all over the road.
