FOODIE FRIDAY for May 1, 2009

I get quite a kick out of this picture, which was sent in by the lovely SASHA. Not only did the person who made the sign screw up the word "order" (which, let's face it, is NOT a difficult word to spell!), but he also royally screwed up the sentence. How 'bout changing that "with" to a "when you"? Or making the sign say something like "Free soft drink with the purchase of any lunch sandwich"?

You'd think these sorts of signs would be easy to craft, right? Apparently not. The message on the sign is short, but the grammar and spelling is not very sweet.

Thanks, SASHA, for finding this one! :)

It sort of looks like they misspelled "odor." So, stinky people get a free soft drink?

That's a good one. I'm going to keep my eyes open for horrible examples like this to send you, because I see them all the damn time.

@ Bridgete: Haha, yeah, it does look like that!

Really, though, if the person stinks, they should be given a free bar of soap, not a soda! :)

@ Amy: Awesome! Send as many as you'd like!

By the way, I read on your blogyesterday that it was your birthday, so...happy 28th birthday! :)

Even just an "of" after the word order would have been helpful.

LOL@ the free bar of soap. Toss in a travel sized bottle of Febreez and they'll be all set.

Haha! I agree on both points, LadyStyx! :)

I wish I had known about your blog a month ago...I saw a sign in a McDonald's drive-thru that said "We sorry run out girl toys" and I didn't even bother getting a picture of it.

Hi, Amanda! That sounds like a hilarious (and awful) sign! If you ever go past that McDonald's again, I do hope you have your camera with you! :)

Oder? My Olfactory system detects the possible scent of Engrish. I also like how the sign says 'modern'. Apparently bad grammar has become a 'modern' trend as well....

Bad grammar is a CRAPPY modern trend. I am not a fan!
