So far, fantasy baseball's been very, very good to me...

In honor of fantasy baseball officially starting for me (had my first draft last night, and I draft in other leagues on Thursday and Saturday because I'm freakin' crazy) and the regular baseball season starting soon, I figured I may as well do some baseball-themed posts this week! :)

This picture comes to us from CRANE, who also does fantasy baseball. I'm a little horrified at the homonym snafu, but I'm thrilled that the homonym error was found in a paragraph about a Mets pitcher. As you may remember, I get really cranky when someone puts any sort of grammatical or spelling-related errors anywhere near the names of my Phillies...

In case any of you are interested, here's my roster for the 2009 BILFs, league #1. I actually SCREAMED with joy when I got Cole Hamels (aka King BILF) again this year. I also managed to get last year's 2 MVPs (Pujols and Pedroia), an excellent closer and great catcher, and more. And this year I have 9 hot ballplayers on the roster (I definitely didn't have that many last year!), so this is an improvement... :)

Mmmm...Werth and Hamels - what more could a girl ask for? (Maybe throw a little Ethier in for good measure.)

Had a few jump out at me today from one of those junk mail menus that get left at one's door occasionally. Will be sending them along in a few.

@ Liebchen: I wanted Ethier, but someone got him before I could. So glad I got Hamels and Werth, though! (And Balfour, too...he's hot AND has a hot accent!)

In other good news, I just got Phillies/Yankees tickets for a game at Yankee Stadium!!!! :)

Yay! Thanks, LadyStyx; I can't wait to check 'em out! :)

Oh yay, you got Pedroia! He's my BILF. I totally sleep in my Pedroia shirt...and get sad when I have to put it in the laundry basket until the next laundry cycle.

I forgot about fantasy baseball this time. Ah well.

LOL! I understand...I sleep in my Hamels shirt! :)

I'm glad I got Pedroia. I have no doubt he'll do good things for your Sox and my BILFs this year!

Ok, not too bad, considering you have two Chicago players, but it would have been totally awesome if you got Geovany Soto of my Cubbies for your catcher.

Somewhat random thoughts:

I sleep in my TV5 shirt. It's a French tv station - the shirt is purple. I like purple, except that I'm sick and tired of having my walls painted lavendar.

Not many of my hitters are BILFs (I'm not exactly thrilled by Jose Lopez and/or Jhonny Peralta, but I do have Ethier and Mauer, even though I had to get Kelly Shoppach from the FA pool when Mauer's back fell off), but my pitchers are, for the most part, absolutely gorgeous. Observe: Lincecum, Halladay, Papelbon, Lester, Oswalt (what? I think he's cute), and Marlins prospect Chris Volstad. I think I need to take it easy with the commas, though.

@ ChicagoLady: He was on my list of catchers I was interested in, but got snapped up before I even picked a catcher. :( (Also, besides the fact that a few uys on my fantasy team are Cubs, I like the Cubs and hope they do well this year! I really wanted to see a Cubs/Phillies National League championship series last year...of course, I'd have wanted my Phillies to BEAT your Cubs if that had happened, but still, I wanted Chicago to be in the playoffs...)

@ Crane: Mauer is one of the most gorgeous men EVER. I am so jealous you have him, haha. I'm hoping to get him in one of my other two drafts. Lincecum's a cutie (skinny and dark-haired like my Hamels!), but I'm not sure what the other guys you mentioned look like. Now I'm curious...I'm gonna have to go look! :)

I am starting to see why bad grammar pisses you off so much. Looking at that homonym error made me feel like causing as much property damage as I could...

@ Dave: The grammar error AND the Met pissed me off. Why the Met, you ask? Because he's one of The Enemy!
