FOODIE FRIDAY for March 27, 2009 (1 of 2)

Apparently the Department of Redundancy Department decided to get in on the Foodie Friday action (although the error really doesn't have anything to do with food except that the business that made the error is a grocery store).

Red Pen, Inc. reader AUGUSTO notes, After passing along some compliments and one complaint to Superfresh, I get this response at their website. It seems they were unable to decide if the message was 'successfully emailed' or 'emailed successfully'. Evidently, quite the conundrum.

This reminds me that I should probably hit up the grocery store at some point soon. I usually only remember to go to the grocery store when I run out of fresh veggies, cherry Kool-Aid, and Easy Mac. My fridge is looking pretty barren lately... But my grocery store kinda scares me because the aisle where frozen novelties like ice creams and sorbet are kept...is labeled Deserts (no joke!).

Thanks, AUGUSTO, for finding this amusing picture!

If I were you, I'd find a new grocery store, lol.

Perhaps the homonym-challenged grocery store being the one that's most convenient for me to visit is an example of me getting my "just deserts" for being such a snarky little grammar bitch. ;)

Hahaha. My grocery store is horribly disorganized, but as far as I know they don't have a "desert" aisle...

Lucky you, Bridgete! At least your delicate spelling sensibilities are not harmed when you go grocery shopping! :)

I have never paid any attention to the signs at my grocery store but now I must find out if they have a desert aisle.

I was very confused when I saw the Deserts sign at my grocery store. If there's a desert there, then why was there linoleum under my tootsies instead of sand? :)

I hope your grocery store has desserts, not deserts! :)

Maybe they need to label it "Deserted" instead because if your store is ANYTHING like mine, then you can never find any help in the aisles you need it in.

Same here! And when you do find help, more often than not, it's incompetent help. I distinctly remember a grocery store worker sending me to several wrong aisles when I asked where I could find the maple syrup...*sigh*.
