A little birthday shout-out for one of my favorite bloggers...

I was thrilled when BRIAN sent me this little apostrophe problem. I'd been in need of an apostrophe catastrophe because I wanted to post an apostrophe error in honor of BECKY's birthday today! And then one just sorta landed in my lap--lucky me! (And not only was there a screwy apostrophe in this article, there was also a screwy quote. Hey, Duff, it looks like you might need a proofreader...for your mouth. How 'bout you hire me?)

Happy, happy birthday to BECKY! Her blog, Apostrophe Catastrophes, is one of my favorites--if you haven't checked it out yet, I suggest you do so now. Go give her some comment love or gifts of web hits for her birthday! (And thanks to BRIAN for finding this picture!)

Awwww, thanks! You're the best!!! Articles about Guns N' Roses always have apostrophe catastrophes when you think about it because the band name should really be Guns 'N' Roses.

Glad you enjoyed it, Becky! I hope you have a great day! :) And yeah, you're totally right about GNR and their screwily-apostrophized band name!

Plus, they completely botched résumé. Sure, it takes a little more effort, but it's worth it.

Get it right once, then copy and paste it if you must, but use the right word!

Very good point, John--I didn't notice that in the article until you mentioned it. (So many people make that very lazy sort of mistake that I'm almost embarrassed to say I rarely notice it anymore!) You're exactly right, though!

Happy Birthday Becky.

I was looking for something special for you today.

I was in about the 36th hour without eating or sleeping when I came across this, and I had just enough strength to e-mail it, the cat actually had to hit the send button for me, before I collapsed

Okay, I can't back any of that up.

Phew! Good thing the cat was around to pick up the slack when you conked out!
