FOODIE FRIDAY for February 20, 2009

Thank freakin' goodness it's Friday! This week has felt so long. But the weekend is almost upon us, and until then, guess what we have to tide us over?

Buleberries!

Yes, you read that right. Buleberries. BRIDGETE, who snapped this photo at Haymarket in Boston, says: I'd really like to know what a "buleberry" is.

That makes two of us, Bridgete!

By the way, I also love the interesting "$" placement on this sign. That just looks bizarre.

Thanks, BRIDGETE, for finding this one. Happy Friday, everyone!

Reading that sign makes me feel kind of seizure-prone.

Now there are three of us that want to know what buleberries are.

I like how the box they're in specifies that they're "EXTRA FINE BERRIES." Whatever these buleberries are, it sounds like they're probably pretty darn tasty! :)

It is obvious that we need to determine the exact nature and origin of these mystery berries. Perhaps we should consult Bules Cules for help with our investigation?

Great idea, Dave! But if I recall correctly, wasn't the guy on that show really annoying? Hmmm...do we really want to ask him anything?

I grew up in ranching country we used to eat these all the time.

Admittedly they need to learn some English skills, but man it brings back some memories.

Bull Berries. We deep fried 'em'. Some squirrel salad and gopher feet to go with it; Talk about good eatn'.
