Eek! Math!!!!

This picture scares me. No, not because of the screwy grammar (I believe this is an example of Engrish, so I'll be gentle on the grammar). Because of the writing. Because the word that's supposed to be credit looks, as SHARON pointed out, like cred-pi. As in the number pi. Which is math.

And I hate math.

Math is the stuff that this little Grammarphile's nightmares are made of.

I'm gonna go hide all the way under the covers now.

Thanks, SHARON, for spotting this one!

"And I hate math."

Yay!

Me too.

Math sucks!

I'm glad I'm in good company with my hatred of math! :)

Math...is a wonderful thing!

At least, the easy math Jack Black taught the kids in "The School of Rock" is wonderful.

Love this song:

Hi, J. Alfred! "School of Rock" was such a cute movie! :) (And I'm totally a fan of any EASY math, haha! But most math is hard for me...)

I loved math! And it does look like the symbol for pi. I wonder if the person writing the sign first spelled "credt" and then realized they forgot the "i".

Great theory about missing the "i", ChicagoLady! :)

By the way, if you like math, now I know who I'm comin' to when I have a math-related question! (Which isn't often, but when it happens, I'm usually baffled.)

Don't get me wrong, I hate anything but easy math...I'm still carrying scars from my senior year trig class.

I took trig in 11th grade; I absolutely hated it. During senior year, though, I took statistics...and it was the most awesome math class ever! Not only did I like stats (they were a LOT easier for me to figure out than trig ever was!), but on Fridays our teacher would let us play Jumbles. I became known as the Jumbles Queen and sometimes the teacher would have me play against the class...guess who won every time? ;)

I hated math too. The fact that my brother (3 yrs my junior) could read the problem upside down, backwards and do the problem in his head faster than I could do it on paper...well it didnt exactly endear me to the subject.

Mmmm...pi.... ;)

It actually looks like an uppercase pi. Which may still mean something in math, but I don't think it means the same thing.

It has nothing to do with math.

They're a Spinal Tap fan.

(And yes, I know more than half of you will not get this movie reference, and I have absolutely no pity for you.)

Cred-PI?
Isn't that infinite spending ratio that our economy is now based on?

@ LadyStyx: ...But at least if you were struggling in math, you had the best tutor living right under your very own roof, right? (I sure hope he helped you with math if he was that good at it!) :)

THE GRAMMARPHILE said...

@ Bridgete: Haha, every time I think "pi," I then think "pie," which reminds me that I'm hungry. Lemon meringue, please! :)

THE GRAMMARPHILE said...

@ Brian: Gee, thanks--that joke went over MY head, too! :P

@ Tim: Ha! Good one.
