Blizzards suck, and so does this headline.

OK, one of two things is going on here:

1) The person who posted this article was being kind of an ignoramus and forgot a word in the headline. (I'm guessing the missing word should be "for.")

2) Blizzards have actually gained the ability to speak and warn area residents that bad weather's coming their way.

Unfortunately, the first choice is the most likely one. Sigh.

"Hello?"

"Oh hi! This is the blizzard, I just wanted to make sure you know I'm on the way and you should stock up on any supplies you might need."

"Thanks so much! I'll run to the store."

I had a blizzard warn me to stay away from it's girlfriend, Snow Flake.

It was fine with me she was frid...

I just can't do it.

Well, that's what you get for hanging around such a flake...

My first thought upon reading the headline was "Oh, so there's going to be a World of Warcraft outage in just the northern Plains? That's a bit odd."

Haha! Thanks to my last ex-boyfriend, I actually get that joke. He was huge into WoW...had 2 level 70 characters in, like, his first year of playing. (He spent a LOT of time on the game...and in addition to being a WoW guy, he was also a finance guy, so I was frequently treated to lengthy monologues about how World of Warcraft is JUST LIKE the stock market...)

Why is the word Plains capitalized? It's just a region, it's not a state or county.

Also, have you seen the latest SI issue?

THE GRAMMARPHILE said...

I'm not surprised they randomly capitalized a word...that's actually one of the least egregious errors I've seen this site commit lately. (I frequently check that site just to see its many errors; they never disappoint me in that respect, haha.)

No, I haven't...are there any attractive BILFs featured in it? :)

Mr. Cole Hamels himself is on the cover.

OMG! *squealsquealsqueal* Thanks so much for the heads-up! I'll be picking that up on my way home tonight. Mmmm, eye candy...

If I were a blizzard I wouldn't warn anyone. I would take the biggest snowiest dump on all of those Great Plains Folks.

Ouch! Apparently your blizzard is NOT so polite! LOL.

That site always seems to give the red ink a good work out...

That site has *drained* a few of my red pens! :)

(Well, not really, since my "red pens" are really just the straight line tool in Paint. But you get the idea, I'm sure.)

I kind of like the idea of weather warning you beforehand. At least then when snow called you could tell to f-off. I might not be able to stop the snow, but I will hurt its feelings.

I like that idea! I have a few choice words I'd say to the snow if I could... ;)
