Philly football fans' version of "Why can't us?"...

So PAT was kind enough to send me this picture, which came from this Deadspin.com article. It seems that my fellow Philly sports fans--not satisfied with the "Why can't us?" phrase made famous during the 2008 baseball season--are at it again with their crazy grammar. I'm kinda baffled by "Eagles Wins" (shouldn't it be "Eagles win"?), but even more confused by "Wife goes to Tampa". WTF?

I've never cared about football too much, but I'm totally rooting for my Iggles and want 'em to kick the Giants' tushies. Then again, if that happens, I'll probably be the most hated person in the entire building (I'm the lone Philly sports fan in an office that's located in the heart of Mets territory--I'm already treading on thin ice due to the Phillies' World Series win, and if the Iggles manage to win over the Giants, I will likely be tarred and feathered). Whatever--it would be worth it!

Thanks, PAT, for sending in this picture!

We actually saw that sign during the post-game show yesterday, and we both thought of you immediately, Sweetie. I wish that people with little or no grammar skills would stop making signs to display at games. They are not doing us or our teams any favors.

Haha! Thanks for thinking of me. I, too, wish these morons would quit holding up signs that have stupid stuff written on them. They're making all the other Philly sports fans look bad! ...Let's go, IGGLES! :)

I can't beleive you used the word tushie in your post hahaha...And how exactly does one define a tushie? Is it like buttox? :)

Please, please, PLEASE tell me that you're aware the correct spelling of the word is "buttocks". "Buttox" is hilarious, though. Here's your made-up/misspelled word in a sentence: "As they pulled my covered wagon along the Oregon Trail, I got really sick of staring at their buttox all the time." ;)

Sadly, I think the Iggles doesn't have much of a chance of winsing aginst the Giantz. ;-)

I'm hoping a few more Giants think it would be a good idea to shoot themselves in their legs, Plaxico-style. That would give the Iggles a very easy win. ;)

The dude was just hoping to take his wife on a vacation to Florida, because that's where the Super Bowl is being played this year
http://www.nfl.com/superbowl/43

He gets a Super Bowl trip, she gets out of the cold weather and stops nagging him to shovel the snow off the (expletive) sidewalk. It would be the vacation of HIS dreams, not hers, I'm sure. The exception would be if his wife actually was a sports fan.

Hey, it's still a trip to Tampa. It's probably warmer there than wherever they live...so even if the wife hates football, she should still be happy. She won't be freezing her butt off in Tampa! :)
