FOODIE FRIDAY for January 30, 2009

Oh my freakin' god. Red Pen, Inc. reader KIM found this fabulous mistake for us. She notes that "Williamses = Venus and Serena Williams. Mannings = Peyton and Eli Manning." And she's exactly right.

But the best part? The VERY best part? KIM also noticed that this mistake is on every package of the cookies! Bwahahahahaha! Oh, Oreo, where is your proofreader? Who let you guys get away with this insanely stupid and obvious error?

Also: Look in the upper left corner of this picture. What. The fuck. Is a lick-off? Is it just me, or does that sound obscene? And doesn't the picture of the Williamses and the Mannings with their tongues out also look kind of obscene?

Thanks, KIM, for spotting this! And now, let the dirty jokes begin. C'mon, you know you want to!

I thought Hump Day Grammar posts were for Wednesdays... *evil grin*
Love you.

A lick-off does sound suggestive...and I think the phallyic-looking blimp it's painted on confirms that the Oreos execs' minds are in the gutter.

Great catch! And thanks for the plug today.

@ Mama Grammarphile: Haha! I must have my days of the week mixed up again. ;) Love you, too!

@ J. Alfred: Oh, good--I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed all the innuendo in this picture! Those Oreo execs...such perverts.

And you're welcome for the plug--thanks for sending in a great picture! :)

The look on Peyton's face makes me wonder what he's licking. Shouldn't an oreo taste good and not make you frown?

Yeah, you're right--he does look like he's making a "yuck!" face.

If I got paid to eat Oreos, I'm pretty sure I'd look a hell of a lot happier than he does!

Wow - Nabisco must be hurting for sales. Just looking at that picture makes me want to kick puppies and commit other random acts of wanton destruction...because it is clearly stupidest thing I have ever seen haha

PS (And these are double stuff Oreos too - It could have been worse. At least it doesnt say twice the cream filling in each lick haha).

So many innuendo-laden jokes, so little time...

Their ad campaign would have been MUCH cooler if it had been a NOM-off instead of a lick-off! ;)
