Rich in advertising dollars, not so rich in homonym knowledge...

Wow. The above picture was on the back of all of those little magazines that you find at the end of the conveyor belt in the grocery store checkout line. Lots and lots of people have gotten to see that lovely little homonym error. Brilliant. Advertising FAIL!

I believe that misspelling is becoming the norm. I've read so many magazines and books with misspelled words as of late.

Charlaine Harris books are ripe with them.

That makes me SO sad. :( Secret Drinker, you're gonna make me cry!

HAHAHA I love it! Use it or loose it! Really though what the hell are we paying teachers these huge salaries for if so many people grow up having no idea how to spell? Has anyone ever thought of that? The education system in this country needs to be completely revamped. As it stands right now the U.S. is actually lagging behind many other developed countries in education...Hey just me but maybe GW's 'No Child Left Behind Act' was so much Bullshit?

I don't know about you, but I don't even pronounce 'lose' and 'loose' the same. The first has a 'z' sound (voiced), the second an 's' sound (unvoiced).

@ Dave: C'mon, would you really trust Dubya to make an education plan work? It's obvious he was gonna screw that up. Not only can he not even properly pronounce easy stuff like "nuclear", I'm willing to bet he sure as hell can't spell it correctly, either!

I'm with you, JD--that's how I pronounce them, too. This type of thing seems to be a fairly common mistake on this side of the pond, but I don't know how they get the two words confused so often since their pronunciations are definitely different.
