Here's hoping...

...that the E magically falls from its erroneous placement in FALLE and slides gracefully down the sign to rest in between the M and the R in M RCHANDISE.

Man, when I first saw this I thought the same thing.

I want that E to move!

Most typos are due to stupidity (or ignorance, if you want to be a Good Person... which I never do). This has to be the result of someone actively messing with the letters.

Now, that's not to say that I didn't have the exact same thought when I first saw the picture. :)

Good Person? Ha! Being a Good Person (as opposed to being a Snarky Person) is NEVER any fun! :)

I'd be willing to bet anything that when this guy was making the sign, he was probably thinking that it needed another E, and left that empty space open while he searched high and low for another E for the sign.

In fact, when this picture was taken, the sign maker was digging through a desk in the back room, looking for another E.

That reminds me of an old chinese proverb: The greatest things in life can be found at the end of the Falle.

Your explanation was very well thought out, Pat! :)
