RED PEN, INC. ELECTION DAY EXTRAVAGANZA!

It's Election Day! There's one pair of people I'd really like to vote for, seeing as how my Phillies are now the World Phucking Champions...

...but since that's kinda silly (they're baseball players, not politicians!), I'm gonna Barack the vote! But you guys have known that for a while, right?

I know a few of you knew that I was quite happy when Clinton was no longer campaigning to be the Democratic candidate...

Yeah, I know, Obama's not perfect (sometimes he even dangles prepositions at the ends of his campaign slogans!), but I think he's by far the best choice we've got. Do we grammar-lovin' types really want McCain running this country? Think about it:

--The McCain campaign has made big apostrophe screw-ups on their own merchandise

--Then McCain went and picked this grammatically retarded goober for a VP candidate. Check this out--she can't tell the difference between two Canadian pranksters and the president of France!

--The McCain campaign also can't spell (thanks to BECKY for this link)

--And apostrophe errors just keep following the McCain campaign...

No matter who these candidates' famous relatives may be (note my correct apostrophe placement there!)...

...I'd still love to see Barack in the White House, for reasons I've gone into plenty of times before...

...despite the fact that it somewhat disturbs me that people are already making up words based on him. "Obaminate" sounds an awful lot like "sperminate," doesn't it? Or is that just my warped little mind at work? (Also, please note the awful but kinda hilarious spelling mistakes made by Obaminate Definer #2, who is clearly a bigot, and a retarded bigot at that.)

In all seriousness...please, please, please make sure you vote! It's an important election (understatement of the year). Make sure your voice is heard!

Update: As you may have heard, the elections have started (nice agreement, CNN! *snicker*)...

...and I proudly cast my vote for Barack Obama!
Happy voting, everyone!

Lovely thoughts, and yet another reason to vote for Obama. How could I, in good conscience, vote for eight more years of butchered language and poor apostrophe placement?? I just can't, Grammar Girl. Good thing I voted for Obama this morning :)

I like how you think (and how you voted, too)! :) Glad to see I'm not the only one voting in favor of better grammar and fewer apostrophe screw-ups!

Good post and I completely agree: Obama based words are kind of weird. I mean its nothing new or anything its just uhh weird. Definition 2 was clearly written by that idiot who tried to make it seem like someone assaulted her, and then carved Obamas initials in her face after they saw her McCain bumper sticker. The 'Untied' States? hahaha. Regardless, I 'Baracked' the vote this morning as well. I'm predicting (and hoping) that Obama will Pwn McCain in a landslide victory. And when that happens I am going to go outside my house, no matter what the time and yell at the top of my lungs - Take THAT McCain!

BTW - How do you suppose they vote in Alaska anyway? I wonder...maybe they have to stand in line at the local polling station (an igloo), after parking their sled or plow, and then stand behind a dotted line and throw snowballs at targets representing the candidates (if they miss they dont get to vote hahaha). Of course Palin is the exception - She gets to use her rifle. God help us all if Palin ever gets into the White House - she'll make like a throne out of a Moose carcass or something...

I think voters in Alaska hop on their caribou and head to their polling places, making sure to wave hello to Russia as they tell their caribou to "mush"...
