Where are those Rays from again...?

I'm not sure I like the sound of "Tamp Bay Rays." It sounds so harsh, so quick... "Tampa Bay Rays" flows much better, doesn't it?

The first game of the 2008 Fall Classic is today! The Phillies' Cole Hamels takes on the Rays' Scott Kazmir in Florida. Should be a great matchup. Here's to the hottest pitcher (and, um, best team) winning. Let's go, Phillies!

By the way, I like that the Rays are helping out Obama, but are they unaware that Obama's pullin' for the Phillies in this series? Just sayin'... ;)

That's awesome! I think the Sox lost because McCain was rooting for them.

McCain cursed your team? That bastard! :(

Tamp Bay Rays...it's what the cool kids are calling them! At least it wasn't Tampax Bay Rays. Tee hee.

Haha! That might be what I'm calling 'em if they start to piss me off by beating the Phillies... ;)

Nowhere else in America is a team named for a body of water — states, cities, one or two regions, but never a body of water. That's why the City of Tampa Rays blow barnacle balls. The City of Tampa Buccaneers suck, too.

/TMQ-inspired rant

Ooh, good observation, MoJoe. And I've gotta say that the phrase "blow barnacle balls" is the funniest thing I've seen all day! :)
