I am not other people's apostrophe-related errors...

So one of the coolest musicians ever, Beck, just got finished playing a string of shows in New York City at the United Palace Theatre (which looks like it was once some gorgeous old church). When I was in the venue's lobby, I didn't see this error--probably because I was distracted 'cause I kept thinking, "Oh shit, I'm in a church. Am I gonna get struck by lightning at some point during the show 'cause God's not too thrilled about my little heathen ass hanging out here?". But BRETT, who also got to see Beck this time around in New York, was sharp enough to notice this little error and snap a photo of it. (There should be an apostrophe between the people and the s, dammit!)

On a non-grammar-related note, this was my 11th Beck show, and it was fabulous. He played a great variety of stuff from a wide array of albums, and he delivered a really fun performance. I keep trying to decide which was my favorite song he performed at this show, and I have like ten favorites--I really can't decide! (Everything from Modern Guilt and Sea Change was phenomenal, and he did a lot of really great stuff from Guero, too...) Awesome, awesome show. Not my very favorite, but close. My favorite Beck show involved free second row, dead-center seats from one of my buddies at Interscope Records (this was when I was still in radio, obviously), and then said buddy from Interscope brought me backstage to meet Beck! The show was part of the Sea Change tour, and this picture of me and Beck was taken on Halloween 2002 at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. Beck told me he liked my devil horns, and I nearly died of happiness!

I'm the devil-horned one. Beck's the one in the green stripey shirt.

Thanks to BRETT for sending in this picture!

Finding your Beck post via Google has led to my discovery of your blog! I am a copy editor and am happy for this fortuitous and fortunate encounter.

So, Beck is not perfect after all?

Actually, in this case, it was the concert venue/church that was not perfect. In regards to Beck's perfection...I used to think he was perfect until he decided to mess up "Gamma Ray" on Letterman the other night. ;)
