TO/TOO/TWO TUESDAY for September 30, 2008

I don't know which is more charming: the article's headline, referring to the Mets as losers, or the cute little homonym error in the first paragraph. It should say playoff berth--not playoff birth. The baseball playoffs certainly weren't born in the year 2008 (although certain teams' playoff hopes most definitely died in 2008--ba-dum-cha!).

To me, "playoff birth" sounds like some kind of "alternative" birthing plan. Like, there's the natural birth, and there's the water birth, and then there's the playoff birth, although I'm not sure what exactly the would entail.

Yeah, yeah, Morgan, I know it was an awful joke. But in the spirit of making fun of the Mets...I couldn't help it! I just had to say it anyway. :)

Hmmm. Perhaps a "playoff birth" is some really special way to give birth to a child one has produced by sleeping with a hot, talented baseball player...
