MISSPELLING MONDAY for September 8, 2008

Usually I see the reverse of this situation--something in a product's description is spelled screwily, but the actual product and its packaging are misspelling-free. In this case, though, it looks like somebody over at Ben & Jerry's had a big ol' brain freeze when they designed the packaging for this product.

Misspelling be damned, the longer I keep looking at this ice cream, the hungrier I'm getting... The orange Amp and the green tea with honey I'm having for breakfast today pale in comparison to how yummy Strawberry Cheesecake (note the correct spelling!) ice cream would taste...

OMG! My beloved B&J made such a basic mistake! How embarrassing. The company used to be run by literate Commie-pinko left-wingers like me. What the hell has happened over there? I just may have to stick with the company's Imagine Whirled Peace flavor in protest! Oh, the ignominy!

Hi, Katharine! :) I'm guessing B&J corrected this by now, as I have come across pictures of correctly-spelled Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream containers online, but you're right, this is a really basic mistake for such a big, cool company to make! ...I've never tried the Imagine Whirled Peace flavor, but I do love their Mint Chocolate Cookie! :)

Hi, Dave! ...Actually, I suspect if it was a legitimate LOLcat who designed the packaging, it would have said Cheezcake (which, of course, is close to how they spell Cheezburger!). :)
