I'm just sayin'...

OK, I get the general idea here. Farm workers have gotten a pig to nurse three abandoned tiger cubs. That's a good idea, a sweet idea, and I'm glad it's working out for the little orange fuzzballs.

However, I think the person who wrote the photo caption could have used a better word than agreed in this instance. The writer makes it sounds like somebody actually asked the pig, "Hey, wanna nurse these tiger cubs?", and the pig was all like, "Sure thing!" I'm pretty sure that didn't actually happen. I'm pretty sure that what happened was that they attempted to have the pig nurse the tiger cubs and the attempt was successful. I don't think there was any actual dialogue going on between the pig and the farm worker despite the fact that this photo caption would kinda have you believing that there was. I get what the writer is trying to say here, and while what he said isn't technically wrong (because by going ahead and nursing the tiger cubs, I suppose the pig is implying that she agree to nurse them), he absolutely could have used a better word. Pigs don't talk or agree to much of anything--unless, of course, they're one of those rare lipstick-wearing pigs, and I've heard sometimes they say a thing or two... ;)

To be fair, my mind skipped over the "agreed" part and instead interpreted the sentence as saying that the tigers were going to be fed the dozen piglets. (interpreted "together" not as "the little tigers with the piglets", but instead "the little tigers as a group will eat the piglets)

Just goes to show that there's more than one way to botch a sentence. ;)

Ha! Indeed, there's definitely more than one way to screw up a sentence!
