It's probably not technically wrong, but it still makes me cringe...

I saw this headline today...and it made me queasy. I realize that "has got" is technically OK and acceptable to use, but it sounds so freakin' AWFUL. (And if you think it's just me who's picky about this sort of thing, note that the Triangle Grammar Guide doesn't recommend this sort of language, either.)

MAMA GRAMMARPHILE keeps warning me against talking shit on the Mets, since they did just acquire the very fearsome Santana, and since their offense is pretty good, and since I'm sure they'll be back with a vengeance this year after coming in second (hahahaha, losers!) to my Phillies last year, but I can't help it. Whenever there's questionable grammar in a Mets-related news article, it's going to get posted here--I'm simply unable to resist this sort of thing.

With baseball season right around the corner, I want to know which teams you dig! (For those of you who are new to this blog and haven't been privy to some of my previous baseball-related rants, I'm a Phillies girl, of course...and I'm cool with the Yankees. Not cool with the Red Sox or the Mets.) Leave me a comment and let me know which baseball team is your favorite!
