It's an earful...from Red Pen, Inc.!

For the first time ever, you're getting a Red Pen, Inc. entry audio-style! (Ooh, technology...love it!)

My cute and smart Grammar Stud found this article on really terrible writing/speaking in video games. The article comes complete with audio files of the worst-written/worst-spoken parts of each of the featured video games. And they're baaaad. Very baaaad.

You can check out the article by clicking here...

...and here are my favorite parts of the article and its accompanying audio:

* I really can't figure out what word the dude in Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes is really saying, but if--as the article says--it's not really "nausea," then I think this one's making up his own words...

* In Firefighter F.D. 18, they really DO make up their own words--like "fashionate"! (Were they conversating about fashionating? Omigod, even typing that made my brain hurt...)
**Note: a gold star goes to my former boss, Don, who was sly enough to spot a typo (now fixed, of course) in the sentence above.

* The House of the Dead 2--this clip just cracked me the hell up because I have such a sophomoric sense of humor. It's a must-listen.

* In Last Alert, somebody asserts that "Garcia, nobody can hire my feelings." Uh, what?

* If you frequently visit (and love) www.engrish.com as much as I do, you'll love the clip from Mega Man 8! (What's that uncle's name again?)

* In Resident Evil Outbreak, it sounds like somebody's trying to read lyrics from a Backstreet Song and say them as seriously as if they're part of a Robert Frost poem. Ugh. No bad grammar here, but terrible delivery...

* In Star Ocean: The Second Story, somebody warns us that they will "warm you up to your bones"! Ooh, I'm soooo scared.

Big thanks to the fabulous Grammar Stud for rockin' the Red Pen, audio-style!
