They damn well should be afraid!

Something happened tonight--something amazing. The Phillies, my beloved boys in red and white, are tied for first place in the NL East for the very first time this season. (Mama and Papa Grammarphile were there to witness it. I'm so freakin' jealous.)

The Mets fans are getting nervous now. Actually, if you're going by the headline above, they're Met fans, not Mets fans--as in, they're each a fan of one and only one Met and not a fan of multiple Mets. (I can't blame them--but then again, that's probably because I'm not a fan of any Mets.)

While I'm being snarky, I'd also like to point out the comma placement (or lack thereof) issue in the headline. There should really be a comma between afraid and Met. Thankfully for me, though, retardedly-written headlines are the least of the Mets' problems. They have bigger issues--like a few really important games with the Cards and the Fish.

LET'S GO, PHILLIES! "Worst to first" would have a really nice ring to it, wouldn't it?
