One more reason why the Phillies are cooler than the Mets...

For those of you who don't know, I'm a die-hard Phillies fan. I love my boys in red and white. (I especially love the cute ones. Hellooooo, Cole Hamels!)

But I like the Phillies for more reasons than their cuteness. I like the fact that they swept the Mets in a four-game series. I like how the Phillies are now two games out of first place in the NL East. And I like how they don't sound like idiots when they certain Mets do.

I commend the Met for his sportsmanlike attitude (he was much kinder than, say, Lo Duca ever is when talking about the Phils), but I'm appalled at his language. "They played good." EEEK! Obviously, it's "they played well." I suppose since the Mets haven't been playing well lately, they forgot how to correctly articulate this sort of sentiment.

Despite the fact that Pat Burrell (who does SO well against the Mets, which is VERY, VERY HOT) seems to have more brawn than brains, I'm pretty sure even he is smart enough to use "well" instead of "good" in this type of sentence.
